How about Digital (Transformation) Fatigue?
Andromeda galaxy (M31), Am I digitally transformed? This question came to my mind while working on numerous digital transformation initiatives for various customers. What impact does digital transformation have on me? Ever wondered or observed the fatigue of digital transformation on yourself?
This question is even more relevant in pandemic times, where working hours are never ending, online classes, weekends are deemed working…sailing through intermittent network/power/wardrobe malfunction issues we stand true to our work commitments. In BC (Before corona) times, there was life beyond screen (mobile/tabs/desktops/laptops/etc.) and now I am looking for innovative screen repellents (like mosquito repellent) to reduce my screen exposure (though ended up googling 😊).
Due to this over “digital” indulgence in our lives, are we not becoming fragile, emotionally less stable than our parents / grandparents? Patience as virtue is seldom displayed? Empathy is taught in schools as tick box to a course, seldom preached throughout to become a habit.
Do it now – Need it now - Everything at disposal with click of button, is it not implicitly impacting the hard wiring and making us impatient. It may be my lopsided observation, but certainly would like to overcome this digital indulgence and be more personal.
My cure approach –
B2B – not business to business, but back to basic 😊
We need to smartly balance & transform ourselves while onboarding digital transformation bus (of course not ESB 😊 – cant help integration is in my DNA now). To start with - Meditation, breathing exercises, any hobby not picked or pursued in past for various known/unknown reasons – now is the right time (I’m doing theatrics with my son). Giving back to society in whatever manner you can, even more important in MC (Mid corona) times. Re-personalize, Re-prioritize relationships. Forgive, ask for forgiveness – move on. Cherish moments in daily chores etc..
Honestly, its working 😊
What’s your cure ?
